Valley Beverage prides itself on employing some of the best people around. Over the next year we’d like to introduce you to some of them. Each of our employees has a unique story, set of goals and approach to working for our distributor. April’s team highlight: Rick Dugal.
For this month’s ‘Meet the Team’ we’d like to introduce you to Rick Dugal. Rick is Valley Beverage’s Key Account Manager. Chances are, if you’ve been in the beer business any amount of time, you’ve encountered Rick in the market. Rick originally started with Federal Distributors back in 1996 when he began his career as a sales rep, quickly moved into being an Area Sales Manager in 1999 and was then promoted to Key Account Manager in 2002. In 2004, Rick decided to try his hand in local radio and left the beer business, however, the call of daily competition and amazing people drew Rick back and he reestablished his role as Key Account Manager in 2011. He’s been maintaining and managing our chain accounts ever since. When he’s not making sure we have the “look of the leader” in the chain segment, Rick is husband to Wendy (congratulations on 33 years of marriage you two!), dad to 4 grown daughters, Boppy to his 5 grandchildren, one of which he and Wendy are raising, a granddaughter. In his free time, Rick is favorite broadcaster for local sports in the Central Maine area. Rick prides himself on being a strong family man who views the world in black and white, not gray. Rick is also a lifelong athlete, still playing softball with a local team and has this parting sentiment “No industry has fed my competitive drive more than the beer business. You are measured by wins and losses on a daily basis”. We at Valley Beverage are certainly thankful for Rick’s many years of hard work and dedication to moving the dial forward in this industry.
